Our Story

Kumvana Gomani was born in Toronto Ontario Canada. She moved to Sweden in 2006. She studied Industrial design at the Emily Carr Art and Design University in Vancouver Canada. In 2009, she made international break through with her own brand name. Her bold minimalist designs for MoMA museum shops and DT shops in Sweden, inspired by minimal Swedish Folk inspirations. The same year Kumvana won an international green sustainable design competition with Inhabitant online magazine which started a collaboration with various fair-trade projects with international development programs and organisation. In 2019 Kumvana moved to Australia from Norway and in 2020 founded WOVEN. We opened our first shop located at the Fyshwick Niche Market in Canberra, Australia. Woven is a social enterprise and a leading resource for sustainability and slow living.

Our full collection is available in our Kingston location shop at 28 Cusack Centre, Corner Eyre Street and Jardine Street, Kingston ACT 2604. We source directly from Fair Trade organisation of WFTO suppliers or other social enterprises. We believe passionately in the value of a circular economy. Our partners and future partners are in the following countries - Bangladesh, Malawi, Ghana, Guatemala, Nepal, Tanzania, Nepal, Tunisia and India.
